چکیده
The main goal of the study is to establish spatial and temporal distribution pyroclastic material from large explosive eruptions volcanoes Kamchatka, Kuril, Aleutian Islands create a generalized tephrochronological model reveal patterns activity in this region. This paper presents new data on composition volcanic ash (tephra) found Pleistocene deposits northwestern Pacific eastern slope Detroit Rise (northwestern part Imperial Ridge), 450–550 km east Kamchatka Peninsula. Eleven layers lenses tephra aged 28 245 ka, which were previously unknown, studied core Lv63-4-2. Their stratigraphic position age determined based models developed study. Based geochemical glass (determined using an electron microprobe), seven correlated with several cores Bering Sea. obtained results supplement information region their periods activity. They also allow development Quaternary deposits, necessary for correlation, paleooceanological paleogeographic reconstructions.

Late Pleistocene - Holocene environmental changes – records from submerged speleothems along the Eastern Adriatic coast ( Croatia )
U-Th and 14C dating, and X-ray diffraction of parts of 16 submerged speleothems taken from depths of 1.5−41.5 m from 7 submarine caves and pits along the Eastern Adriatic coast, provided insight into the sea-level fl uctuations during the last 220 ka, and to the palaeogeographic changes caused by sea-level changes. Due to climate changes, palaeoenvironmental settings also varied, but not so abr...
متن کاملExtensive Deposits on the Pacific Plate from Late Pleistocene North American Glacial Lake Outbursts
One of the major unresolved issues of the Late Pleistocene catastrophic-flood events in the northwestern United States (e.g., from glacial Lake Missoula) has been what happened when the flood discharge reached the ocean. This study compiles available 3.5-kHz high-resolution and airgun seismic reflection data, long-range sidescan sonar images, and sediment core data to define the distribution of...
متن کاملRock Art at the Pleistocene/Holocene Boundary in Eastern South America
BACKGROUND Most investigations regarding the first americans have primarily focused on four themes: when the New World was settled by humans; where they came from; how many migrations or colonization pulses from elsewhere were involved in the process; and what kinds of subsistence patterns and material culture they developed during the first millennia of colonization. Little is known, however, ...
متن کاملClimate-Human interaction over the Iranian Plateau during the Upper Pleistocene-Holocene: A review
During the past two decades an array of studies have shed light on potential links between the evolution of Hominids as well as Human dispersal out of Africa and episodes of abrupt climate change. Although archaeological evidences suggest that anatomically modified humans appeared in Africa between 200 and 150 ky ago, the timing of the early humans migration out of Africa remained unclear. Stra...
متن کاملClimatic implications of latest Pleistocene and earliest Holocene mammalian sympatries in eastern Washington state, USA
For more than fifty years it has been known that mammalian faunas of late-Pleistocene age are taxonomically unique and lack modern analogs. It has long been thought that nonanalog mammalian faunas are limited in North America to areas east of the Rocky Mountains and that latePleistocene mammalian faunas in the west were modern in taxonomic composition. A late-Pleistocene fauna from Marmes Rocks...
